The move to give Painting and Coating its own zone for the first time at the UK's premier building and construction event, which takes place at the NEC from April 23-27, has been warmly welcomed across the trade.
Mike Keep, a director of Painting Today and one of the organisers of the new area at Interbuild 2006, said: "It's a great opportunity for our section of the industry to raise its profile.
"The zone will feature all the latest developments, including things which many people do not realise are possible.
By taking them to Interbuild they will get a much higher profile within the industry because the show attracts such a wide spectrum of visitors.
"Although the zone will showcase developments in colour and the aesthetic appeal of different paints and coatings, it is primarily about functionality and coatings with a really practical purpose.
"We are expecting the major companies from the sector to be at Interbuild 2006 but the zone is as just much about the small innovative companies who are really pushing the industry forward".
Graffiti Magic comes into that category and Perry added: "Interbuild offers us a perfect platform for demonstrating our products to a wide cross-section of construction people and we're really keen to gauge the reaction to our new coatings".
Among the leading painting and coating companies already committed to exhibit at the zone are Igoe International, Seddon and Lion Industries.
More than 44,000 trade professionals attended Interbuild when it was last held in 2004 and they represented a combined buying power of around GBP24.5billion.
