Major revamp of Interbuild for 2009

First major change will see the launch of Interbuild Specifier - an innovative showcase of construction products, process and design to be located in Hall 5.

The centrepiece of this area will be The Innovation Hub positioned at the heart of the hall, which will feature four exemplar projects in all core vertical markets of the built environment including:.

* Living Space - eco and affordable residential development.

* Supporting Communities - education and healthcare solutions in support of major government backed capital projects in those sectors.

* Reinventing Places - addressing regeneration and refurbishment - key themes in these post-credit crunch times.

* Thriving Places - a showcase of innovation from the commercial, industrial, leisure and retail sectors .

For the first time, the organisers plan to demonstrate how buildings can work most effectively in the context of a wider community.

Interbuild Specifier will also incorporate civil engineering and landscaping.

David Pierpoint, Event Director at Interbuild, says: "We're creating places that are socially inclusive, environmentally sensitive and economically productive.

Or, to put it another way, spaces where people want to live, work and play - and not escape at the first opportunity.

It's a huge challenge, but one we look forward to meeting head on.

Next year's Hall 4 will see the launch of Interbuild Onsite which promises to deliver everything the building trade needs before going onsite.

This area will showcase commercial vehicles, tools, heating and ventilation products primarily aimed at end-users and installers.

"Creating these two new brands under the umbrella Interbuild title allows us much greater freedom to devise the communication campaigns that speak directly to our very distinct audience groups", says Pierpoint.
