Interbuild BSF recognises innovation in education

The Interbuild BSF Innovation Awards recognise innovative new products for the education sector.

Held at this year's Interbuild, the awards recognise new products for the building and refurbishment of schools.

Steelway is presented with the Interbuild BSF Innovation Award for Best sustainable product, for its outdoor play solutions

Every exhibitor within the Interbuild BSF zone was automatically entered into the awards which were judged by members of the Birmingham BSF procurement team.

Entrants were judged against commitment to use of local labour, products that are being continually improved and offer a whole life approach to cost and defects, while minimising disruption to education during works.

In the Best sustainable product category, HushTex acoustic solutions and Steelway outdoor play solutions were awarded joint winners.

Best MandE innovation went to E-Stack low energy natural ventilation systems for schools.

Best building fabric innovation was awarded to Polyflor vinyl flooring.

Best ICT innovation category was awarded to Steljes interactive classroom systems.

The Best product for enhancement of learning award was presented to the furniture supplier Keystage for working alongside schools to undertake research and development of their products.
