Institute of acoustics turns up the volume with appointment of new publicity and information manager.
The Institute of Acoustics announce the appointment of Judy Edrich to fill the newly created role of Publicity and Information Manager Based in St Albans, the Institute is the UK's professional body for those working in acoustics, noise and vibration

Latest developments in noise research
The latest developments in Noise research will be discussed at a meeting on 24 May organised by the The Institute of Acoustics' Environmental Noise Group in conjunction with DEFRA.
The Institute, which is a registered charity, is active in research, educational, environmental and industrial organisations.
Members have wide ranging interests in all aspects of acoustics.
The position has been created to promote the Institute better to the outside world.
Judy will be responsible for raising the Institute's profile to encourage new members to join the 2,500 current membership.
She will also be responsible for ensuring that the many conferences and meetings of the Institute are publicised with a view to attracting wider attendance, as well as promoting the Institute's important educational programme.
Judy's previous position was as Communications Officer for an environmental charity.
She also has many years experience of working with the United Nations and the World Health Organisation in Geneva and in sales and marketing in the UK.
President of the Institute, Tony Jones, says "The Institute has been in existence for thirty years and has been very successful thanks to the support and hard work of its many volunteers".
