The latest developments in Noise research will be discussed at a meeting on 24 May organised by the The Institute of Acoustics' Environmental Noise Group in conjunction with DEFRA.
This well-established Diploma is a postgraduate course, usually studied part-time over one year.
In an ever increasingly noisy world, it provides a recognised professional training for those involved in the control of noise and vibration in the environment and the workplace.
The Diploma covers the principles of acoustics, as well as specialist subject areas including architectural and building acoustics and sound reproduction; noise and vibration control engineering; and environmental and transportation noise, encompassing relevant legislation.
The Diploma is delivered at several universities throughout the UK and can count towards a Masters degree with further study.
It is also available as a distance learning option, which offers the opportunity of flexibility in studying.
The Institute is currently taking registrations for its next Diploma course, which will commence in September 2005.
