With the advent of the new Building Regulations (Approved Document E 2003) in England and Wales with the associated routes of Robust Standard Details of Pre-Completion Testing, it is an opportune time to examine the situation in Ireland and identify the issues that need to be addressed.
The Institute of Acoustics will be holding a joint meeting of the Irish and Scottish branches on 25 November 2005 at Clontarf Castle, Dublin, to discuss the implemention of the current England and Wales Building Regulations and the proposed revision to the Scottish Building Regulations.
It is considered that this meeting will provide a forum for discussion as to the suitability of the Buildings Regulations within the UK being implemented in Ireland.
The meeting will be of interest to Building Control Authorities, architects, developers, construction companies and, of course, acousticians.
