High-efficiency waterjet cutting intensifier
PP Plasma, one of the UK's leading contract profile cutting companies, is deriving major productivity benefits from a KMT Waterjet Cutting Systems Streamline 100 high-pressure intensifier.
Having recognized the growing demand for the versatile process, the company was looking to market a machine that would provide a cost effective and reliable solution.
The benefits of a good cut quality and the ability to create intricate shapes across a wide range of different metallic and non-metallic materials are just some of the key attributes of the process.
Not only does the Aquacut range offer these capabilities, but also has a number of other features that further enhance performance.
These include remote diagnostics and a CNC control system designed and built by Microstep themselves.
This facilitates easy to operate cutting programs that require only a short period of operator training.
Quantum Laser Engineering was also impressed by the flexibility of Microstep in terms of machine variations and their ability to provide customised solutions.

All spare parts are carried in stock to ensure a fast service response in order to minimise machine downtime.
Meanwhile, Coventry Lasers, a sister company to Quantum Laser Engineering with the Matrix Laser group, is reaping the benefits of the Microstep Aquacut technology.
It is using Aquacut to cut stainless steel drain covers with thicknesses of 15-20mm for a highly prestigious architecturally specified urban regeneration programme in Coventry.
"Cutting stainless steel of 15-20mm thickness is bread and butter work for waterjet, but the quality of cut and intricacy of the work would not be achievable with other cutting technologies without additional finishing operations and preparation" says Paul Henderson, Chairman of the Matrix Lasers Group.
