productivity
KMT ultra-high-pressure pump upgrades waterjet cutting system to improve speed and productivity.
Working with Power Jet Systems, KMT Waterjet Cutting Systems has supplied a 50HP Classic ultra-high-pressure intensifier, an Autoline cutting head and abrasive handling system to Manchester Brick and Precast, one of the largest brick cutting companies in the UK These investments have been used to upgrade an existing waterjet cutting machine, enabling Manchester Brick to cut thicker materials, complete jobs faster, and reduce the time and costs associated with maintenance

Metal Spinners Group has been able to make great cost savings and guarantee that the product is right everytime since purchasing its own Ingersoll-Rand Streamline equipped waterjet cutting machine.
Waterjet System Provides Unique Service
KMT Waterjet Systems (formerly Ingersoll-Rand) powered waterjet cutting machine has enabled Hull based steel fabricators and profilers W Campbell and Sons to offer a new profiling service.
After many years of hard use, the original 25HP pump, cutting head and abrasive handling system - all of which were originally supplied by Power Jet Systems - were reaching the end of their useful life.
When Manchester Brick approached the company to discuss replacements, Power Jet Systems had no hesitation in recommending the KMT products.
Not only would the pump be extremely efficient and enable hard materials to be cut faster, but the maintenance requirements on this state-of-the-art pump would be much lower.
Similarly, the cutting head and abrasive handling system would offer improved performance and require less maintenance.
While PowerJet's cutting machine spends a proportion of its time cutting bricks and blocks, it is also used on steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
After almost a year, the KMT pump has just had its first seal change, which was performed by Power Jet Systems as part of a training day.
Geoff Critchlow, Manchester Brick's Production Director, is impressed by the new pump, cutting head and abrasive handling system, saying: "The KMT upgrade has made a significant difference to the performance of the machine and has substantially reduced the associated maintenance overheads".
"Moreover, the upgrade was far more economical than purchasing a complete new waterjet cutting machine".
He adds: "The support we have had from both Power Jet Systems and KMT has been superb, right from the moment we enquired about the upgrade through to the latest training session and seal change".
"Overall, I am very pleased with the equipment and the service.".
