Ingersoll Rand will be at the Site Equipment Demonstration [SED] show demonstrating a variety of products.

New Ingersoll Rand Compressors and Lights Ingersoll Rand Construction Technologies Sector will be exhibiting for the first time at SED 2006 with products from the company's Utility Equipment business

One of the star attractions will be the new 7/26E and 7/31E portable compressors.

Complementing the company's light tower range, a new Balloon Light for construction site and other temporary lighting requirements will also be shown at SED.

Alongside will be other portable power products including generators and pneumatic tools.

Portable compressors.

Replacing the previous 7/26 and 7/31 models, the new 7/26E and 7/31E portable compressors are based on a redesigned common platform offering several important features and options not previously available for these models.

Other developments include an increased run time due to the use of a new 50 litre fuel tank.

Demonstrating Ingersoll Rand's commitment to protecting the environment, one of the most important new options is a 'bunded base'.

Other options, such as the generator, aftercooler, overspeed valve, spark arrestor and twin toolbox that were only available previously on the 7/31, are now available on both of the new compressor models.

In addition, customers can choose an optional control panel providing much more comprehensive information with additional fault signals.

A new lower cost version of the 7/31E without brakes (<750 kg) is also available.

The 7/26E and 7/31E portable compressors provide free air deliveries of 2.5 and 3.0 m3/min at output pressures of 7 bar, respectively.

They are aimed at a very wide range of applications in plant hire, construction and general industry.

This covers a number of standard pressure applications including powering breakers and tools in road repair, demolition and refurbishment.

Lighting equipment.

The new Balloon Light is a low capital investment product based on a practical 'plug and light' concept.

Packaged in a small, easy to carry bag and weighing less than 10 kg, the Balloon Light is simple to install in a one-man process, taking less than five minutes to complete.

The unit requires only a small 3.5 kVA generator for power and it can be mounted on virtually any piece of equipment, allowing it to move with the job in hand.

An optional tripod is available for stand-alone installation.

The Balloon Light is a low noise solution, ideal for site lighting on construction, roadwork and utility projects as well as at the scene of accidents, fires and other emergency situations.

It is also intended for applications on industrial sites, airports and warehouses along with concerts and other leisure events.

Pneumatic power tools.

Visitors to the SED stand will also be able to see the Ingersoll-Rand range of vibration-reduced paving breakers and pickhammers.

The breakers and pickhammers are designed and constructed to reduce operator vibration risks to the lowest level whilst maintaining productivity.

There are four paving breakers with operating weights of 15, 21, 30 and 40 kg.

Complementing these is a range between 2 to 12 kg of vibration-reduced pickhammers for demolition and surface preparation applications in construction and industry.

The tools are accompanied by a full range of accessories, including chisels, steels, hoses, clamps, couplings and lubricators.
