Interalia's newly launched iProMOH, one of the world's most advanced promotional on-hold music/message announcement systems

When Expotel, the UK's leading independent hotel and conference reservations service, needed to update its messaging and music on hold (MOH) system at its four UK contact centres, it turned to NewVoiceMedia, the UK's Premier Call Centre Audio specialist Their solution was Interalia's newly launched iProMOH, one of the world's most advanced promotional on-hold music/message announcement systems

New messaging and music compilations are regularly created for Expotel at NewVoiceMedia's state of the art, digital recording studio.

Then, utilising iProMOH's IP technology, the new material is downloaded from NewVoiceMedia's web-server to the iProMOH units located at Expotel's four contact centres in Glasgow, Leeds, London and Stockport.

"The iProMOH is a very advanced system which provides us with reliability and flexibility", says Martin Pearce, Head of Telecoms at Expotel.

"It overcomes all of the problems associated with traditional systems and provides a much greater level of power and choice than the simple devices integrated with new telephone switches".

Unlike CD or tape players, iProMOH has no moving parts and it does not require media to be sent out when the unit needs updating.

A whole network of systems can be updated from one server and set to play the production at a predetermined time.

In order to maintain full network security, the iProMOH will connect an outbound connection (HTTP) to the iCAS software application at configured intervals.

Each iProMOH unit simply opens a standard web browser session.

Once contact has been established the iProMOH will uniquely identify itself to the software and download any productions that are available for that unit.

On-hold companies or marketing departments can update the units at any time to any location in the world.

"By combining the iProMOH state-of-the-art digital technology with our creative scripting, professional voice talent and specially created music, we are able to produce regularly updated marketing, courtesy and information programmes for Expotel that hold their callers' attention", says Nick Findlay, Director of NewVoiceMedia.

"This helps create additional sales enquiries and build awareness of Expotel's products and services." Messages can be downloaded to the iProMOH weeks or months in advance, and then automatically brought into service when required.

As updates are carried out remotely, technical staff are not required at the location nor does it rely on a third party to insert a CD or tape.

Not only does iProMOH support a wide range of popular audio file formats but also smoothly cross fades between music and messages.

It allows on-hold callers and retail customers to listen to pre-recorded messages and/or music, blended music and messages or messages cross-faded with music from an external source such as a live satellite or digital feed.
