XMU+ provides cost effective and reliable means for British Nuclear Group to communicate with its workforce at Sellafield, one of the largest nuclear sites in Britain.

Whether it is informing the thousands of workers at Sellafield about traffic problems on the road leading to and from the site or giving early details of an emergency, Interalia's XMU+ is the first line in communication for the world famous Sellafield site in Cumbria Used in conjunction with 3000 pagers, carried by onsite staff, the XMU+ provides a cost effective and reliable means for the British Nuclear Group to communicate with its workforce at Sellafield, one of the largest nuclear sites in Britain

Owned by the NDA (Nuclear Decommissioning Authority), NDA, the Sellafield site is managed, under contract, by the British Nuclear Group.

Employing around 14,000 people, the British Nuclear Group specialises in site management and nuclear clean up.

Although the XMU+ provides auto attendant, ACD announcements, music/marketing-on-hold, interactive audiotext, call processing and basic IVR functionality, at Sellafield the XMU+ is used exclusively for ACD announcements.

Equipped with 61 ports, it enables managers to quickly and easily change announcements, sometimes up to five times a day, so that employees only receive the most up-to-date information.

By using the XMU+ for ACD announcements Sellafield can also provide its staff with a variety of messages without requiring a dedicated port for each message.

"We are really pleased with the XMU+ which has provided us with a inexpensive way of communicating with several thousand people quickly and easily", says Michael Woolaghan, Site Shift Manager for British Nuclear Group at Sellafield.

"We record a message and within 30 seconds are able to page all staff members to go and listen to it at one of the hundreds of telephones located around the site".

Interalia XMU+ fills the void between simple passive announcers and expensive voicemail or IVR systems.

It is compatible with all major telephone systems, is easy to install and operate and offers numerous highly developed features.

The standalone system is designed as a solution for any industry needing auto attendant, ACD announcements, music/marketing-on-hold, interactive audiotext, call processing and basic IVR functionality.
