Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES) Limited has formed a dedicated Building Regulations Division.

Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES) Limited has formed a dedicated Building Regulations Division, as part of its ongoing initiative to aid architects, engineers and all those involved in the building design process through the implementation of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) into UK law This new Building Regulations Division, led by David McEwan, can advise on criteria for compliance and can assist with advance Part L checks, looking at the likely compliance of any building currently being designed

One of the key objectives of the EPBD is the consideration of a building's energy performance as a whole, rather than on an elemental basis.

This will require a significant change in attitude in how energy performance is assessed.

Part L of the UK Building Regulations is being comprehensively updated in April 2006 to meet the EPBD.

IES is uniquely placed to offer a wide range of solutions for all buildings affected by the new regulations.

The company is the developer of the world's first commercially available suite of integrated Building Performance Software tools, the , which helps in the understanding of a buildings energy performance and carbon dioxide emissions in a more holistic manner.

David McEwan, IES's Building Regulations Division Manager, says; "We can help those involved in the building design process have the confidence of knowing that the buildings they are designing will comply fully with the new Part L regulations".

"The new regulations come into effect in only six months time and we are already helping customers involved in large projects plan ahead to meet the new standards".

IES offers detailed analysis software, training and consultancy services, to help those involved in the building design process assess the performance of a building, at any stage of the design process and throughout its lifecycle.
