In recent years the Ariel Motor Company, creators and manufacturers of the highly acclaimed performance race car, have achieved tremendous success due to their unique approach to design and the superior performance of the Atom, described by some as part jet, part race-car, part high performance motorcycle.
To accommodate the growth of the brand and business in general, in late 2007 the company was preparing to move into their brand new flagship facilities in Crewkerne, Somerset.
Managing director and Atom designer Simon Saunders commissioned commercial contractor Tile Doctor to tile over 600m2 of both walls and floors throughout the new large workshop, office facilities and impressive showroom.

Ultra ready-mixed pastes and powder adhesives

Marc Burgess, owner of Tile Doctor, chose the guaranteed performance of Ultra's tile adhesives and grouts due to their impressive portfolio of successful applications and previous on-the-job experience.
Ultra ProGrip HG, ready mixed acrylic wall tile adhesive, was used to fix the small format porcelain wall tiles throughout the office and workshop facilities in the building.
Formulated with the busy tiling contractor in mind, Ultra ProGrip HG is especially suitable for these formats because of its high grab qualities.
The product also contains an anti-fungal additive, which prevents the build up of mould and is ideal for both wall and floor porcelain mosaics, glass and natural stone tiles.
Ultra ProRapid RS, rapid set porcelain tile adhesive, was used to fix the large format 900x900mm Green Brazilian Slate tiles on the floor in the Atom showroom and the 300x300 grey porcelain tiles in its workshop.
Ultra ProRapid RS is a fast set premium grade cementitious tile adhesive ideal for both interior and exterior use.
Because it is polymer modified, the product is perfect for fixing natural stone, porcelain and ceramic tiles in both wet and dry conditions where exceptional bond and rapid set are essential.
In addition, Ultra ProRapid RS complies with the requirements of EN12004 and is C2F classified.
To finish off the tiled areas, the contractor applied Ultra's Wide Joint Grout to the grouting lines of all the floors, and Ultra's Fine Joint Grout in all the kitchen and bathroom areas.
Both Ultra grouts are suitable for walls and floors in kitchens, bathrooms, swimming pools, power showers, etc., are water repellent, mould resistant and anti-fungal and are backed by Ultra's lifetime guarantee.
As the tiling application was completed in record time, Marc Burgess of Tile Doctor, believes the Ultra products offer an unmatched performance, which improves efficiency and delivery greatly.
