Solihull pothole problems solved by Ultracrete

Ultracrete Instant Road Repair and Ultracrete Spray applied Bitumen Cold Joint Sealer have assisted the repair of potholes for Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council.

Ringway (Solihull) are Term Maintenance Contractors for Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council (MBC).

Within Ringway there are a number of teams known as IRU's - Ringway's Incident Response Unit's.

One of their main responsibilities is to ensure all potholes on the roads of Solihull are kept to a minimum.

Originally their Incident Response Units would carry out interim repairs, proving costly to Ringway and the local council.

Labour, traffic management costs, plant hire costs and fuel costs were increasing, resulting in an unproductive way to work.

Ringway and Solihull MBC required a product that would efficiently repair the potholes with only one site visit required and a product that would reduce their overhead costs.

Ultracrete Instant Road Repair (IRR) and Ultracrete SCJ (Spray applied Bitumen Cold Joint Sealer) from the brand Ultracrete were introduced help them over come their pothole problems.

Ultracrete Instant Road Repair is a permanent pothole repair solution for roads, pavements, driveways and car parks.

It can be trafficked instantly in wet, freezing and hot conditions and is compatible with the existing flexible surface.

Ultracrete SCJ is a bitumen cold joint sealant spray, designed to seal and waterproof vertical edges of macadam and asphalt reinstatements promoting durability and longevity in temporary and permanent reinstatements.

A simple 3-step application...

- ensure the pothole is free of debris and standing water.

- apply Ultracrete SCJ spray sealant to pothole edges.

- apply Ultracrete Instant Road Repair slightly proud of the pothole and compact with a hand tamper, meant that Ringway's Incident Response Units were able to effectively repair potholes immediately with no second site visits required.
