As a busy building it will be subject to heavy use and must withstand this without undue deterioration or excessive maintenance.

The landscape architect., Gillespies, needed to ensure they specified long term durable products to secure the external landscaping of the centre, while preserving and enhancing the character and appearance of the conservation area.

Gillespies, specified the Ultrascape range of products after a visit to discuss a environmental and sustainable approach.

A demonstration with Instarmac's Site Support Team was arranged prior to work commencing, to show the contractors how well the range of products perform, enabling application at a 1 in 20 fall.

Products from the Ultrascape range used were EP-R9 epoxy resin mortar, Pro-Bed HS fine bedding concrete (in bulk supply), Pro-Prime cementitious slurry primer, and Flowpoint ECO rapid setting flowable grout containing 20 per cent recycled glass.

EP-R9 played a vital role in the development of the exterior paving.

Due to its rapid strength gain, exceptional bond strength and durability it was used to secure the step units around the perimeter and protect them against vandalism.

All products aided the sub-contractor, Blakedown Landscapes, to complete the 800m of sandstone paving.
