Seminar celebrates silver anniversary for INCA
70 architects attended the 'Overcoat of Many Colours' seminar, sponsored by the Insulated Render and Cladding Association, at the Arsenal's Emirates Stadium in October.
The event, which marked the Association's 25th anniversary, was chaired by well-known architect and television and broadcasting personality, Maxwell Hutchinson.
The programme 'kicked off' with a talk by Charles Cooke, of HOK Sport Architecture, on the use of colour in the design of building facades.
This was followed by architects Stephen Quin, of HLN Architects; and Nazar Sayigh, of Glas Architects, discussing their INCA award-winning projects, Monico apartments, Cardiff; and 57/65 Great Suffolk Street, London, respectively.
These won Andy Swan 2007 Awards for the best use of external wall insulation - the former for new residential development, the latter for new commercial buildings.
Maxwell Hutchinson, Hutchinson Studio, reviewed all the award winners and presented trophies to Stephen and Nazar, as designers of the overall winning project and the runner-up respectively.
Specifiers then had an opportunity to visit the accompanying exhibition, showing the diverse insulated render systems available.
