Making life more efficient with Drayton controls
Drayton Controls, looks at what new Energy Performance Certificates will mean for homeowners and the educational role that installers have to play.
Homeowners can choose between three pre-defined programs to best suit their needs.
Alternatively they can create their own individual heating program quickly and easily or simply modify one of the existing programs.
An override function for all programs ensures that homeowners have complete flexibility and total control over their comfort.
The Digistat +2 and +3 are compatible with combi boilers and are also ideal for zone control in larger properties, creating flexible heating zones throughout the home and providing superior comfort levels and energy savings for homeowners.
The real time clock, which is set accurately at the factory, means that installers no longer need to manually set the clock on installation.
Both products also incorporate a handy memory saver function so that in the event of a power failure the time and programs are saved and there is no need to reset the programs.
In addition, the real time clock means that manual summer/winter time changes are a thing of the past.
An intelligent delayed start function also means that during milder weather the time that the heating comes on will be delayed without compromising the final temperature of the room, helping homeowners to be more energy efficient and save money.
A holiday mode function also enables homeowners to program their thermostat to heat up their homes ready for a return from holiday so there will be no more coming back to a cold house or flat.
The battery-operated versions require the connection of only two wires and can replace a conventional thermostat without the need for additional wiring.
Both products are fully compliant with Part L and Part J and homeowners have the choice of 2, 4 or 6 time/temperature events each day and 12 or 24 hour clocks.
In addition to being suitable for combi boilers, the products can also be used in conjunction with electric heat (mains powered version recommended) and hydronic underfloor heating.
