With underfloor heating growing in popularity for both new builds and renovations, IPPEC has reported a significant increase in demand for specialist training in its installation.

IPPEC has been offering professional underfloor heating courses for over 15 years and is at the forefront of new technology relating to system design and control.

With few installers and contractors trained in correct installation procedures for modern underfloor heating systems, there has never been a greater need for training programmes such as these.

Moussa Namih, Managing Director of IPPEC and Technical Officer for UHMA (Underfloor Heating Manufacturer's Association), explains: "Getting the proper training is the best way for installers to progress in this growing market where the demand for these energy efficient heating systems is rapidly increasing".

"Our training courses are flexible and designed around the requirements of the installers, which is why they take place on weekends".

"We explain both theoretical and practical aspects to ensure a high level of understanding and offer tips on troubleshooting techniques to avoid problems post-installation." IPPEC has a purpose-built training centre in Birmingham, where installers are invited to a one day seminar held on a Saturday on a bi-monthly basis.

The seminars are divided into two sections with theory and design for underfloor heating systems taking place in the morning, followed by lunch and a practical demonstration in the afternoon.

Crucial to every successful installation of a UFH system is understanding its design and control, which forms an important part of the course.

Emphasis is placed on critical issues such as floor insulation, first floor design, floor coverings and correct installation procedures as well as the best way to avoid the pitfalls.

The practical workshop includes a demonstration of an actual installation where delegates can watch the process step-by-step.

This includes primary connection back to condensing boiler and the operation of weather compensation control on a working boiler and on separate display panels.
