An award winning home, which was recognised for its individual design and unique features by the Daily Telegraph, was fitted with Pexatherm underfloor heating and Pexapipe plumbing by IPPEC, the plumbing and underfloor heating specialist.

Mr and Mrs Hayes, a professional photographer and musician, respectively, were commended for the imaginative design of their home as well as for their use of environmentally efficient products.

Energy efficiency was a key part of the design, with the creation of a 'breathing wall' system and the use of Pexatherm system for underfloor heating and an energy efficient solution provided by the condensing boiler system.

The Pexatherm New Thin UFH system uses much less dense insulation than traditional methods.

The 25mm thick high quality PU type insulation is used to reduce floor heat losses and is foiled with a thick gauge aluminium heat distribution sheet.

The system provides UFH comfort with new covering for the existing floor yet occupying less than 50 mm of floor depth.

The Pexapipe advanced system used in this installation has many benefits.

The joint-free pipe from Manifold to outlet does not leak or corrode.

It is quick and simple to install from a roll and is quiet when in operation.

The red and blue conduit of Pexapipe plumbing makes flow and return identification easier and the universal manifold brackets and metal pipe guide keeps the plastic pipe looking neat and tidy.
