New headquarters and showroom for Iris FMG
FMG showroom demonstrates the youthful, innovative character of a company whose man-made marbles, travertines and stones reveal its leadership in the production of technical ceramics.
This important restyling project made use of innovative FMG materials such as pre-polished and polished Pietra di Cordoba on the ventilated facade, flamed Porfido Brown on the walkway leading to the showroom and Ardesia Cinza slate with a honed finish for the area in front of this elegant building.
The entire project was given a special added touch by light effects, which not only illuminate the imposing structure by night but underline its innovative style and the choice of a design emphasising its geometric forms for the restyling project.
FMG's innovative spirit is also reflected in the showroom, which is altered every year to make room for new materials officially unveiled before the market at CERSAIE, the international ceramics trade fair.
The showroom with its redesigned components consists of a central open space with a series of rooms branching off around it.
The open space showcases new products from CERSAIE 2005: Travertino noce, Travertino classico (Travertines), Jura Gold and White Limestone (Stones) with polished, pre-polished and honed finishes are suspended on plates of glass, where they are struck by beams of light that emphasise their texture.
The areas around the open space, which were completely redesigned for CERSAIE, represent four settings: hospitality, wellness, retail and expo.
The hospitality area consists of a coffee shop and two meeting rooms designed to give clients an impression of the company's innovative concept.
This concept of modernity is expressed primarily in the design and juxtaposition of materials, providing visitors with a demonstration of their great versatility and quality, which are the outstanding qualities of FMG products.
Starting with the bar in the coffee shop, which is completely covered with Persiano giallo travertine, going on to the wall bearing new decorative pieces from the Africa range, and ending with the flooring of Ardesia Nera slate.
The two meeting rooms are finished in Avorio Crosscut to create a cosy atmosphere.
The wellness area contains a swimming pool completely covered with honed White Limestone (a new product presented at Cersaie 2005) and Mosaico Azul Cielo, while honed Ardesia Cinza is used in the flooring around the pool, all accompanied by sober, modern furniture.
The aim is to recreate a real wellness area emphasising FMG's talent for producing special pieces, as the company's experience working at RupertusTherme in Germany demonstrated with excellent results.
The retail area contains a modern 'music shop' finished with Jura Gold (another new product from Cersaie 2005), fitted out with modern cd-displayers made of FMG materials, a project demonstrating the flexibility of man-made stone.
Finally, the expo area showcases the full range of FMG products, all set in an environment intended to attract attention to the materials on display, just as in a museum the visitor's eye is guided toward the works of art.
In this area visitors can quickly and easily locate all the material and information they require for business negotiations.
The FMG showroom is much more than an ordinary showroom, demonstrating the youthful, innovative character of a company whose man-made marbles, travertines and stones reveal its leadership in the production of technical ceramics.
