Global interest as Dundee firm hails
world first
IRT Energy Rating software analyses infrared photography - measuring CO2 emissions, energy consumption and providing a financial cost for the energy being used.
IRT Surveys, which is based at Dundee Technology Park, is the only company in the world that can take a thermal image and quantify the results The software has already triggered interest from utility providers and within the oil industry from as far afield as Washington DC and Azerbaijan as well as worldwide environmental organisations

IRT Surveys Managing Director Stewart Little said: "I am delighted to unveil the Energy Rating computer software, which is the only one of its kind in the world.
We are considering licensing the software on a global basis, while retaining the analytical expertise in Dundee.
"We work on the principle that everything above - 273 degrees centigrade emits energy which is invisible to the naked eye.
Our infrared cameras not only show the energy but also capture it in full colour - the result is that heat can be seen in a photographic image.
"Now we have taken our service to the next level through the development of the Energy Rating software.
We can take a thermal image of a building and pinpoint air leakages, rising damp, roofing problems and inefficient insulation, while measuring CO2 emissions and providing a figure for the financial cost to the householder.
"We are already receiving a global interest in the software, which has been developed by our team in-house over the past six months, and are in the process of translating the software into 22 languages," added Stewart.
"We are the only company in the world which can provide this service, and I am very excited at the level of interest which we have had so far." For further information, please telephone IRT Surveys on 01382 598510 or visit the website.
