Marples Keeps Chiseling Its Way To The Top

An Irwin Industrial Tool Company product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Oct 1, 2003

Irwin Industrial Tool Company, the country's leading manufacturer of hand tools and power tool accessories, has made two new additions to its Marples range of next generation chisels.

The Marples M750 Splitproof ProT Bevel Edge Chisel builds upon the already successful features of the range to take performance to an even higher level.

The unique soft touch handle along with its ability to absorb repeated hammer blows makes it ideal for all types of repetitive, demanding and trade orientated applications.

Tradesmen can also make use of the new M750 Splitproof Firmer Chisel, which features strong, thick, firmer blades.

The deep, straight sides of the blade make it ideal for heavy use, roughing out, housing and grooving.

The new Marples MS500 Bevel Edge Chisel, designed for joinery and light commercial work, incorporates a striking cap handle to help absorb and reduce the effect of harmful vibrations.

The unique impact-resistant polypropylene core handle with non-slip, soft touch panels ensures that users will benefit from a positive and more comfortable grip, even after prolonged use.

All Marples blades are hardened and tempered up to the last 25mm to ensure a long life.

Made from a one-piece forged blade, special manufacturing processes create the now famous steel edge that is slow to blunt yet easy to sharpen.

Linda Geary, Product Manager for Irwin said of the new chisels: "The two additions to the Marples range have been designed around the needs of the market.

Changes have been made to the handle of the MS500 in line with end user requests, and this will enable tradesmen to get more out of their chisel.

The traditionalist wood worker will still have the opportunity to make use of the M373, which will remain unchanged." Irwin is renowned for manufacturing quality tools and its choice of world class chisels are designed specifically for the professional environment, trusted by tradesmen for their superior performance, durability and reliability.

All chisels now come in new, specially designed minimalist packaging with integrated edge guard.
