Bernzomatic turns gas torch market on its head
Bernzomatic, the UK's leading manufacturer of gas torches, has launched a ground-breaking new anti-flare torch range to help reduce the high number of gas torch injuries.
Recent statistics from the DTI have revealed that flaring gas torches were responsible for 128 injuries alone in the UK last year, contributing to the total number of work related accidents.
Working towards the goal set out by the HSE of reducing fatalities and serious injuries within the construction industry by 40%, Bernzomatic, the UK's leading manufacturer of gas torches, has launched a ground-breaking new anti-flare torch range.
An industry first, Bernzomatic's patented fuel vaporisation technology ensures torches will not flare when tilted or even fully inverted.
The first range of its kind to be launched in the European marketplace, the torches contain an array of additional safety features making Bernzomatic's the safest gas torches available.
Bernzomatic, part of The Irwin Industrial Tool Company, has also developed the anti-flare torches to contain a unique safety feature - a fracture point.
If the torch is dropped it has been designed to break in a controlled manner at the nozzle.
This innovative feature eliminates the chance of the torch fracturing at the bottleneck where gas could escape or explode.
To further improve safety standards, every Bernzomatic torch is subjected to a thorough fire test before it leaves the factory, ensuring that each torch arrives in perfect working order every time.
By eliminating the risk of flaring, the new Bernzomatic anti - flare gas torches can be applied to a range of applications, including awkwardly positioned pipes, where access is often difficult, and space limited.
In these situations the use of competitor torches may lead to an increased risk of accidents, whilst the innovative Bernzomatic anti-flare torch provides the user with the confidence to work safely in these situations.
Phil Reed, Product Manager for Bernzomatic commented: "The development of this torch is a significant move towards the creation of a safer working environment, and for protecting tradesmen from unnecessary accidents".
" By aspiring to reduce workplace accident rates by 40% in accordance with the HSE recommendations, Bernzomatic has developed the safest gas torch on the market, one that can be safely operated even when completely inverted.".
