Irwin supports young professionals for the second year running at Skillbuild 2005
The most influential time in any tradesperson's career is during their training and throughout their apprenticeship, which is why - for the second year running - Irwin Industrial Tool Company, the UK's leading manufacturer of hand tools and power tool accessories, has become a high-profile sponsor of Skillbuild 2005 Following the success of last year's sponsorship, Irwin's End User Specialist Team will be in attendance at all regional competitions and the national final, to be held throughout the UK over the forthcoming months

Skillbuild, along with its key sponsors, aims to provide a framework within which young people have the opportunity to display their trade skills in a competitive, professional and educational environment.
Entrants within the Joinery and Carpentry contests will be sponsored by Irwin, and will use Irwin products from the company's portfolio of superior hand and power tool accessories throughout the competition.
Each year, trainees from a variety of trades, from carpentry and plastering through to roofing and plumbing, are invited from UK colleges of further education and independent training centres to take part in a series of regional competitions to test their skills and abilities.
This year, twelve regional competitions are planned, including events in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
The regional winner will go forward to the national final, where the top young trainee in the UK will be identified within each trade discipline.
Ultimately, in some skill categories, competitors will go forward to represent the entire UK in the Skill Olympics, the World Skills Competition, held every two years.
