New system speeds edge protection
New post and panel system, branded Speedpost, promises to speed the installation of edge protection in floor to soffit situations
A new post and panel system promises to speed the installation of edge protection in floor to soffit situations, saving contractors time and minimising delays in creating a safe working environment The system, branded Speedpost, is claimed to be ten times faster to install than typical edge protection systems, enabling twenty metres of edge protection to be installed in less than ten minutes, a level of performance made possible by the fact that Speedpost does not require any drilling or casting of sockets, or fixing of brackets to provide support for posts or panels

mCERTs Approval For ABB Continuous Gas Analysers
The range of Continuous Gas Analysers and systems manufactured and marketed by ABB Limited has recently been certified to the latest mCERTs standards.
Fully compliant with the requirements of BS EN 13374:2004 for Class A edge protection, Speedpost's success lies in a cleverly-designed post that extends between the cast concrete floor and soffit to support the system's mesh panels which provide the edge protection.
Once positioned and extended to ceiling height, the post is tensioned quickly and easily using an integral handle, which can be locked for security.
The process is then completed by panels being secured in position by means of an integral latch.
The system's ease and speed in use means that it can be repositioned with the minimum of effort and provides versatility in application, enabling it to be used in areas other than solely edge protection, such as the cordoning of interior work areas.
The new system, Speedpost, is available exclusively in the UK and Ireland from leading formwork and falsework manufacturer, Ischebeck Titan and promises not only to save contractors time and money, but also to make a major contribution to site safety by simplifying the provision of effective edge protection.
