InteriorExterior commence work on GBP3.4 million project with Aston Villa Football Club to renovate the derelict Holte Hotel at one end of the Premiership side's ground.
ISG InteriorExterior has commenced work on a GBP3.4 million project with Aston Villa Football Club to renovate the derelict Holte Hotel at one end of the Premiership side's ground.
The project will see the four-storey building restored to its former Victorian glory and transformed into a venue capable of catering for more than 300 fans on match days.
The Holte Hotel, which dates back to the mid-nineteenth century and has been vacant since the 1980s, will undergo a sensitive refurbishment aimed at retaining many of the building's original features, to deliver a high quality, contemporary new venue.
A traditional Victorian bar will be created on the ground floor and a small extension constructed in matching brickwork, with ISG InteriorExterior installing veneered timber panels and a feature hardwood timber staircase.
Existing stone floors will be repaired and a range of original fireplaces throughout the building will be exposed and restored.
A new lift will be installed to provide access to higher floors, and ISG InteriorExterior will create three multi-function rooms on the first floor.
The second floor will provide office accommodation and a back of house area for staff with a canteen.
Externally, the company will carry out major restoration of the building's facade, with windows and existing timber panelling replaced and stonework repaired and cleaned, with the project scheduled for completion early in the summer.
Steve Trotter, Managing Director of ISG InteriorExterior commented: "The Holte Hotel is an imposing site at Villa Park for both home and visiting fans, and once news of the extensive refurbishment programme was released, we have witnessed an exceptional response from supporters and the local community".
"The Holte Hotel represents an important part of Aston Villa's heritage and we are committed to delivering a high quality facility that fully represents the club's ambitious plans for the future.".
