Wolseley UK has specified Codelocks to supply heavy duty access control systems to the New Hospitals Development in Manchester.

Around 500 Codelocks CL500 mechanical locks in stainless steel, used in conjunction with Glutz and Nemef mortice lockcases, have been used on store doors within the main hospital building.

Access control was required to restrict access to medical equipment in high traffic situations in the hospital.

The CL500 model consists of front and back plates for use with an existing mortice latch or lock on both internal and external doors.

The CL505, CL515 and CL525 models in the CL500 range allow various ways of managing entry by code, by key and by code free operation of the lever handle.

The CL510 and CL515 models with an incorporated mortice latch have an outside lever handle which will retract the latch after the correct code is entered.

The CL520 and CL525 models include a euro profile mortice sash lock with deadbolt and latchbolt to limit access to code holders.

The full size lever handles on the CL500 range allow it to be used as the primary lock on doors, particularly in high traffic situations in offices, schools, care homes and hospitals.

Commenting on the use of the CL500, Neil Withall from Wolseley UK said: "The robust CL500 with full size lever handles was used to limit access in certain areas to hospital staff and also complies with DDA requirements with regards to door ironmongery".

"The service from Codelocks is second to none, any issues that arise are tackled head on immediately by the experienced sales and technical team".
