Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Jan 15, 2004

Totty Construction's partnering agreement with leisure giant Whitbread goes from strength to strength in 2004 with the award of a new contract to build a Travel Inn and Brewsters Restaurant

The £1.4 million design and build contract for the 40-bed Travel Inn in Oldham commences in mid-January, for 27 weeks, and represents the latest partnering project for Totty Construction and Whitbread.

To date, this relationship has generated over £100 million worth of business, with Totty Construction completing a range of Whitbread developments throughout the UK.

Mike Parkinson, managing director of Totty Construction, explained: "The success and true value of our partnering relationship with Whitbread enables Totty to provide a consistently high quality product, whilst developing the most efficient and cost effective construction solutions.

"Whitbread continues to demonstrate ambitious expansion plans within the UK market, developing a range of new concepts, such as city centre based Travel Inn Metros and Brewsters restaurants.

Winning this latest contract at Oldham is a great start to the New Year and we are confident of securing further work with Whitbread throughout 2004.".
