Totty Building Services has secured a project with Ben Bailey Homes, to fully convert three existing buildings at its Mansfield development, The Park.

Totty Building Services has secured a project with one of Yorkshire's leading house builder's, Ben Bailey Homes, to fully convert three existing buildings at its Mansfield development, The Park.

Two former hostels and an annex building on the development, which is located within a popular conservation area in the town, will be refurbished and fitted out to a high standard by Totty, creating nine new high specification residential homes.

The refurbished buildings will be in addition to the 31 new-build homes currently under construction at this exclusive residential location, which, when completed, will feature a range of two bedroom apartments, one and three bedroom mews-style homes, three-storey townhouses and luxury five bedroom detached.

The project will see the sympathetic restoration and conversion of the existing buildings with care taken at every stage of the process to ensure that the character of the buildings is preserved.

Totty will completely re-roof the former hostels, replace sash and casement windows, re-point brickwork, as well as carrying out repairs to the Tudor inspired render and timber facades.

Internally, the buildings will be stripped out and the space reconfigured to provide modern living accommodation for a range of different style homes, including apartments and large five bedroom semi-detached properties spread across three floors.

The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Philip Ryder, managing director of Totty Building Services, commented: "A high proportion of the schemes that Totty undertakes involve architecturally protected buildings and we have built up a great deal of expertise successfully delivering a range of challenging renovation projects.

The rejuvenation and change of use of old buildings into homes continues to prove highly attractive for discerning buyers and we expect there to be great interest in these new properties".

Jon Bailey, sales director at Ben Bailey Homes, added: "The simple fact that The Park is located in a conservation area meant that any work to renovate the existing buildings had to be done extremely sensitively, ensuring the integrity of the buildings through the careful and considerate selection of materials and building techniques.

"We are sure that once completed, the renovated buildings in particular will exude appeal and will once again be back in keeping with the traditional architectural style of other homes nearby.

The converted buildings are sure to be a major selling point of the development, so we needed a team of specialists with a proven track record capable of doing the job to a very high standard, and Totty matched this criteria.".
