Totty Building Services has secured another project from Kirklees Metropolitan Council to create a new Library and Information Centre in Huddersfield.

Totty Building Services has secured a £580K project from Kirklees Metropolitan Council to create a new Library and Information Centre in Huddersfield.

The Council awarded the project to Totty on the basis of the contractor's excellent performance on an ongoing £1.5 million refurbishment of Birkby Junior School, which occupies a plot adjacent to the new centre.

This scheme sees Totty convert an existing single-storey grade II listed community centre to form the new facility, carrying out minor structural alterations, replacing mechanical and electrical services and comprehensively stripping out and refurbishing the building.

Totty will enhance accessibility to the centre, including the installation of a disabled access lift, and the project is due for completion by November.

Philip Ryder, managing director of Totty Building Services, commented: "We pride ourselves on building strong commercial relationships with all of our clients, working together as a team to deliver high quality solutions".

"This joined up approach to working has proved exceptionally popular with clients, with repeat business accounting for over 80 per cent of our forward order book and negotiated contracts on the increase.".
