ISG Totty Building has secured project with Kirklees Metropolitan Council to refurbish and extend facilities at Bradley Junior and Infants school in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.

Totty Building has secured an GBP860K project with Kirklees Metropolitan Council to refurbish and extend facilities at Bradley Junior and Infants school in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.

The scheme encompasses both internal and external improvements at the school, with the council continuing to make a major investment in its education infrastructure through a rolling programme of refurbishment and modernisation.

The project will see the contractor construct extensions to the existing nursery and dining hall, whilst carrying out an extensive programme of refurbishment and rationalisation to create new welfare facilities, a new kitchen, staff room, ICT suite and library.

The entrance area to the school will be remodelled to enhance accessibility and a significant external works package includes the improvement of playground facilities, with landscaped play areas and new equipment, and upgrading the Multiple Use Games Area.

The project is due for completion by May 2007.

Philip Ryder, managing director of ISG Totty Building, commented: "The education sector continues to prove a buoyant market, with high levels of investment targeted at enhancing existing facilities".

"ISG Totty Building has an excellent track record in the successful delivery of high profile education projects across the North of England, and our close partnership with Kirklees Metropolitan Council continues to provide an increasing range of opportunities for both negotiated and traditionally tendered schemes.".
