ISG Totty Building at the University of Bradford
ISG Totty Building contract with University of Bradford under a three year partnering framework agreement for refurbishment and new-build projects.
ISG Totty Building has secured its latest contract with the University of Bradford under a three year partnering framework agreement for refurbishment and new-build projects up to GBP1 million in value.
The contractor will carry out a GBP600K scheme to refurbish and upgrade facilities at the Clinical Skills Unit for the University's School of Life Sciences.
The company has forged a strong working relationship with the University of Bradford over the last six years, with ISG Totty Building now working on its second continuous framework deal with the University.
The project at the Clinical Skills Unit, on the top floor of the Richmond Building, will see the contractor carry out a phased strip out of the facility, which will enable continuous occupation of the unit throughout the programme of works, which is due to conclude at the end of June.
Accessibility represents a major challenge for ISG Totty Building on site, with all materials and equipment needing to be transported to the fourteenth floor of the building via an external electrical hoist.
The Unit will be reconfigured to provide accommodation for a GP surgery, two-bed hospital ward, community pharmacy, large dispensary, seminar room and a number of administrative offices.
New suspended ceilings and glazed partition walls will be installed, alongside upgraded floor finishes, replacement mechanical and electrical services and new decorative finishes to the entire floor.
Philip Ryder, managing director of ISG Totty Building, commented: "The partnering framework procurement route promotes efficient, consistent and high quality project delivery, which benefits both client and contractor".
"Through early involvement in projects and by working closely and understanding our clients' specific requirements, ISG Totty Building has worked effectively with the University of Bradford to deliver a range of challenging schemes over the past six years.".
