Dean and Bowes has won a second project with developer, St Modwen Properties, as part of the £100 million redevelopment of Edmonton Green, NE London.
The £5.6 million contract to fit out a newly constructed leisure centre, follows the earlier award of a £2.2 million project to create a new Primary Care Trust centre at the regeneration site.
Once the shell of the new leisure centre is constructed, Dean and Bowes expects to commence the internal fit out of the building in mid-May, with the facility expected to open to the public early 2007.
Once completed, the centre will boast an ASA standard 25m six-lane swimming pool, a separate diving pool with moveable floor and terraced poolside seating.
An impressive spiral water slide will also be constructed and a planted beach type area created for bathers to relax in.
Large wet and dry changing facilities will be constructed on the ground floor, alongside a steam room and sauna.
A number of staff offices will also be created on this floor, in addition to the large entrance and foyer area with a lift installation to provide access to all three floors of the new centre.
The first floor will see Dean and Bowes fit out a full sized multi-purpose sports hall and associated dry change facilities, an enclosed children's adventure play area, a number of dance studios, a twin level fitness suite and a cafe area.
The second floor will comprise the upper level of the fitness suite and a further dance studio.
Jim Parker, managing director of Dean and Bowes, commented: "To win a further phase of this keynote regeneration project in London is especially pleasing and reinforces the company's excellent credentials within the leisure sector".
"The importance of modern leisure amenities cannot be underestimated and we are certain that, once completed, these impressive facilities will play an integral role within the local community.".
