Nominations for the Geospatial Engineering Surveyor Award for 2004 are now being accepted by the Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (ICES).
Progression towards corporate membership is actively encouraged by the Institution.
Attainment of the Corporate Member grade is considered a benchmark of competency and professional standing and recognition as a highly qualified surveyor in civil engineering.

New Training Courses And Workshops 2004 Programme
The Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (ICES) has published its latest programme of training courses and workshops for 2004, which includes six new course titles.
This short-course is designed to outline the route options and qualification and experience requirements for the Corporate Member grade and to offer guidance on the application and assessment process.
It will cover topics such as: Eligibility for Corporate Member - Qualification and Experience Requirements Routes to Corporate Member How to Apply - Detailed CV, Experience Report and Continuing Professional Development Records Assessment Process - The Corporate Review Interview, including preparing for the interview, the presentation, questioning and possible outcomes.
Delegates will also have the opportunity to have a one-to-one consultation with the course tutor to assess their own eligibility for the Corporate Member grade and to discuss their application in more detail.
This course is free of charge to members and non-members and will be run at training centres in Cheshire, London, Stirling and Dublin throughout the year, with the first course taking place on Tuesday 17th February from 4.30pm to 6.00pm at the Institution's Head Office training suite in Sale, Cheshire.

This course is useful for civil engineering surveyors at all career levels who are considering applying for the Institution's Corporate Member grade or anyone who wishes to advise others on how to apply for this grade of membership.
Both ICES members and non-members are welcome to attend this course, free of charge.
