ICES Corporate Membership New Guidelines Published

An Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Mar 11, 2004

The Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (ICES) has introduced changes to the routes to Corporate membership.

Under the new guidelines, the Institution now offers five routes to Corporate membership, namely the Graduate, Affiliate, Associate, Technical or the Mature Entry routes.

In order to achieve the Corporate Member grade, candidates are required to demonstrate that they satisfy the Institution's qualification and experience requirements, which varies depending on the route that they are taking, and to have successfully completed a Corporate Review.

The Institution's Corporate Review involves submitting a detailed CV and experience report, attending a Corporate Review Interview and providing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) records for a given two-year period.

Attainment of the Corporate Member grade is considered a benchmark of an individuals competence and professional standing and offers recognition as a highly qualified surveyor in civil engineering.

A Corporate Member is awarded the designatory letters, MInstCES, granted voting rights and offered the opportunity to become involved in the governance of the Institution.

The qualification and experience requirements for the various routes to Corporate membership are outlined in the Institution's updated Guide to Membership, which is available from the Membership Department at ICES Head Office on request.
