ICES Inaugurates New President

Robert Fleming FInstCES has been inaugurated as the Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors' (ICES) President for the presidential year 2004 - 2005.

Robert Fleming joined the Institution as a Fellow (FInstCES) in 1988 and was elected to the Council of Management in 2000.

He was Chairman of the Scottish Regional Committee during 1999 and 2000 and served on the Institution's Committee of Regional Chairmen.

During the year 2003 - 2004, he was the Senior Vice President of the Institution.

Robert is a quantity surveyor by profession.

He is a Senior Associate Director of international construction and engineering consultants Trett Consulting, currently based at the company's offices in Stirling, Scotland.

The Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors is a specialist professional organisation dedicated to those studying and employed in civil engineering surveying.

The Institution is governed by the Council of Management, which oversees the overall direction and policy of the organisation.

The Council of Management is composed of a President, Senior Vice President, Junior Vice President and eighteen ordinary members, all of which are directors and trustees of the Institution.

The Institution has also appointed John Bacon FInstCES as Senior Vice President and Ed Danson FInstCES as Junior Vice President for the new presidential year.
