Integral UK reveals record year of growth
Latest annual report and accounts from fast-growing Integral UK underlines its position as Britain's largest independent provider of nationwide property maintenance services.
Turnover increased by GBP7m to GBP131m, with profit rising 62% to GBP5.5m.
The company's four-year trading record reveals turnover growing from GBP80m and profits of less than GBP2m in 2003.
With a balance sheet now showing assets of more than GBP14m (up from GBP13m last year), the company grew its workforce by 13% to 2,300, including 1,000 directly employed technicians, located in every postcode to provide rapid response nationwide.
In a year that saw a profitable exit for their venture capital shareholder, just eighteen months after a Management Buyout (MBO) of the business from Staveley Industries, ownership is now vested in Integral's management team.
According to Managing Director, Bryan Glastonbury: "This ensures that we are now able to focus our attention on long term planning for Integral's continued growth, backed by a strong balance sheet".
Other highlights of Integral's latest annual report include:.
* Investment in expanding the UK's largest mobile maintenance fleet to 1,233 low-emission vehicles.
* Investment in Integral's national customer service centre to ensure fastest response times and advanced systems for customer reporting.
* Investment in training and equipment to achieve a further 12.5% reduction in reportable accidents.
* Sustained industry-leading customer satisfaction and retention (over 80% of customers reappoint Integral).
* Acquisition of a North East construction company to complete Integral's nationwide provision of fabric services.
* Acquisition of a blue-collar recruitment agency to support Integral's policy of having directly employed craftsmen in all skills and in all postcodes.
* The launch of Integral Interiors, providing shop-fitting and interior maintenance and fit-out.
* The launch of Integral Fire Alarms and Systems.
* Initiatives with schools and colleges to encourage young people to recognise property maintenance skills as a rewarding career.
"Everything we have done in the past year is designed to further our three-point business plan, geared to delivering the best and most cost-efficient pro-active service, providing a one-stop-shop maintenance solution, and managing a directly employed workforce of skilled people, located close to our customers' properties to ensure fastest response times and first-visit-fix capability", said Mr Glastonbury.
"In a nutshell, Integral is not a facilities management company - it is a business dedicated to providing all the maintenance services that facilities management companies and in-house FM departments need", he added.
