After more than a decade of meeting the maintenance needs of social housing owned by local councils and housing associations in Merseyside, Integral Housing Services has 260 local staff, including qualified electricians, plumbers, painters, and other craftsmen.
But they needed a rapid response provider for all the products and materials they use.
National building materials supplier, Travis Perkins, has established a dedicated warehouse in Bootle, Liverpool to supply all the products needed by Integral's Merseyside team, including timber, plumbing, heating, kitchen, and bathroom products.
That initiative includes three full-time Travis Perkins staff.
The result is a big success for everyone.
Integral's maintenance staff have been equipped with hand-held computers, enabling them to submit product orders for central authorisation and passing to the dedicated Travis Perkins warehouse for rapid delivery.
According to Ian Jones, Integral Housing Services Director: "Our new system of consolidating ordering with Travis Perkins in Merseyside enables us to process more than 800 orders and invoices each week.
"Our staff can simply pick up the materials they need and be on their way to the next job.
95% of all reactive repairs are now fixed first time, making a huge difference to our clients' tenants", said Mr Jones.
Travis Perkins' dedicated Merseyside warehouse for Integral Housing Services stocks the full range of more than 500 products specified in the company's maintenance contracts, and provides delivery to site.
Travis Perkins has now established another dedicated Integral operation, at its Barrow-in-Furness branch, to serve Integral's operations for housing contracts in the Cumbria area.
