New 'Slimline' Switches - For That 'Designer' Look
Intelliswitch is bringing to market a new Slimline range of intelligent touch-control lightswitches, under the brand name, 'The Switch'.
The new hands-free switches will be ideal for applications from offices, hospitals, nursing homes, schools, educational establishments (and of course homes) and will be available in the Lifestyle Plastic, Classic, Slimline and Flatplate switch ranges late this year.
The switches will feature Intelliswitch advanced timing technology, so that room lights will remain on for a period of between one and 250 minutes after a room is left unoccupied.
These settings can be user or factory-set, according to individual customer requirements.
The switches will play a major role in reducing electricity bills, as lights will no longer remain on for long periods when nobody is in a room.
Before that, two other products will be hitting the shelves.
An intermediate lightswitch, a further development to the existing Slave switch, will allow Intelliswitch products to be configured in three-way switching arrangements, while a new double (2-gang) on/off dimmer lightswitch will be introduced to serve customer needs across the Classic and new Slimline and Flatplate ranges.
Also in development are fluorescent/ high load controller units (FL/HL) which will enable the company's products to be used in larger commercial or higher load domestic applications.
Due for release within the next 12 months, the system will comprise a ceiling-mounted master switch unit, able to be hidden from view within light fittings or above suspended ceilings.
Configured as a 'master' unit, the system can simply be operated by Intelliswitch slave switches, providing highly cost-effective access to a high-quality touch-controlled commercial lighting set-up, as well as all of the energy saving and functional advantages of Intelliswitch products.
