NG Bailey recognise the strength in Tapcon

An ITW Construction Products product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Jul 30, 2008

NG Bailey has included ITW Spit Tapcon screw technology in its construction 'Best Practice' programme,

Internal trials of the Spit Tapcon Rod Hanger and the Large Diameter Tapcon have demonstrated real time savings for NG Bailey installers.

In particular, the installation of a bracketry systems (Channel and threaded rod) for a wide range of building services, where there is a potential 40% saving on installation time when using the Tapcon fixings, when compared against drop in anchors.

Phil Thompson, Best Practice Co-ordinator for NG Bailey (Northern Division) said, "For installation speed and high performance our trials have shown that the Spit Tapcon range is ideal".

"The products are now being promoted across NG Bailey, in line with our current productivity goals".

A benefit to the Tapcon's fast installation is its range of multi-purpose Condrive kits and specialised drill bits.

Eliminating the need for two different tools, the kits mean there is no need to change chucks or tools, enabling a fast change from drilling to driving.

The Spit Tapcon Rod Hanger is a single piece design suitable for concrete, steel and wood.

The Rod Hangers can be fixed closer together than traditional anchors, without reducing performance values, and they also allow close to edge fixing.

Tapcon Rod Hangers are self tapping in concrete and cut their own thread in wood and steel.

The Large Diameter Tapcon (LDT) is a high performance, concrete anchor that also cuts its own threads.

The single piece design is easily installed.

Simply drill a pilot hole and drive the LDT anchor by hand or impact wrench.

They can also be easily removed.
