Jackson Notches Up Social Housing

Jackson Building Services, the special projects division of Jackson Construction, has secured a further project with the Orbit Group, one of the UK's largest housing association groups.

The £800k scheme to construct 11 new dwellings in Saxmundham, Suffolk will run in tandem with a £5.5 million scheme Jackson is already working on in Norwich for Orbit - creating 82 affordable new build community homes for rent and shared ownership Jackson has worked closely with Orbit for over 13 years, carrying out around 14 projects in the south-east region, with a total value of over £18.8 million

This latest project award will see the company construct five new houses, of both, two and three bedroom design, and six new one bedroom flats on the site of a former car park in the village of Saxmundham.

These houses will be offered to local people wanting to buy their own home on a shared ownership basis.

The new houses and flats are being built using traditional brick and block work, with residents expected to move into their new homes by mid-May 2005.
