Jackson Construction Wins £3.2m
School Extension
Southern-based main contractor, Jackson Construction, has won a £3.2m contract with Thurrock County Council, to build a two-storey extension at Chafford Hundred Campus Secondary School in Essex.
Jackson's was responsible for the construction of the main school, which opened in 2001, and the new extension is set to provide extra capacity and an increased range of facilities at the popular school and is due for partial completion by September 2005 Jackson Construction will commence construction on the extension, which will feature a new multi-purpose hall, additional classrooms, sports changing facilities and a speech and language unit, in mid-November

Jackson's Completes Duxford War Museum Project
Jackson Building Services has completed a £1.3 million, nine-month project to transform the old Armoury building at the Imperial War Museum Duxford.
The concrete-framed extension is designed to blend seamlessly with the existing school and features a pre-cast concrete clad panel fa?ade, as well as a continuous solar shading canopy around the building.
The project includes a large external works package, which will see the relocation of the school's all weather tennis courts, several metres further back from their current position.
As much of the project will be carried out during term time, Jackson's has placed a major priority on developing robust health and safety procedures, as well as carefully scheduling deliveries to the site to ensure any potential disruption is kept to a minimum.
Bernard Clarke, managing director of Jackson Construction, commented: "We are delighted to have renewed our working relationship with Thurrock County Council at Chafford Hundred, to provide essential new facilities for the school.
Jackson Construction continues to build its credentials within the education sector working on a number of key note schemes in the South of England this year, including the new £12.5 million middle school at RAF Feltwell in Norfolk, and a £9.6 million project to build a community sixth form college in Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex.".
