Jackson Construction £2m Refurbishment Project
Jackson Construction has been awarded a circa £2 million contract to refurbish an existing warehouse in the dockland area of Ipswich into new business units.
This impressive addition to the garden centre is already proving a real hit with visitors, with the large, light and contemporary styled restaurant able to cater for over 200 people, and an external terrace area seating an additional 70 people.
Floor space at the new centre has also been increased by over 60 per cent, enabling Notcutts to introduce new departments, including a section for wildlife products and garden clothing, as well as enlarged areas for books and gifts.
Refurbishment work was all carried out whilst the centre continued to trade normally.
Michael Manning, Construction Director for Jackson Building Services, commented: "Working within a live operational environment always adds an extra dimension to a project, however the key is to maintain effective communications with the client to help minimise any disruption to day-to-day operations".
"The project at Notcutts is a fine example of this co-operative approach in action, with a delighted client and a real increase in visitor numbers to the centre post refurbishment.".
