Due to the complex nature of the site, a large volume of material will be excavated by Jackson Construction to form the foundations for the new school.
To minimise the environmental impact of removing material from the site, Jackson will re-use a large proportion of this material around the school.
Further environmental credentials of the scheme include the construction of a rainwater harvesting system to reduce the school's overall water demands.
Facilities within the two-storey teaching block include a timber floor sports hall, assembly hall, music and drama rooms.
The three-storey block will contain the majority of teaching classrooms for a wide range of subjects, with offices, a staff room and the school's canteen and associated commercial specification kitchen.
Jackson Construction will also carry out a significant externals package of hard and soft landscaping at the school, as well as creating a large entrance to the school for bus access and providing car parking for staff and visitors.
Additional sports facilities will also be created with the construction of three multi-use all weather pitches.
The project is scheduled for completion by July 2006, with occupation for the new school term in September.
Bernard Clarke, managing director of Jackson Construction, explained: "The company has established a proven track record in the successful delivery of high profile education projects for clients such as the MOD at RAF Feltwell in Norfolk and Bexhill College in East Sussex".
"These credentials have undoubtedly played a key role in securing this latest scheme for Milton Keynes Council, with Jackson's working closely with the client from the very outset of the project to develop a high quality building solution that delivers to expectations.".
