Jackson Building Services has completed a £1.3 million, nine-month project to transform the old Armoury building at the Imperial War Museum Duxford.
Designed by London-based Colwyn Foulkes and Partners, the new four-storey steel frame building has a wealth of innovative architectural features.
The structure's facade will feature a large area of curtain walling with distinctive timber solar shading panels or 'brise soleil' and copper cladding.
With a prime coastal location and extensive views across the port to the North Sea, the design also incorporates flood defence measures.
Internally, the building will be fitted out to an extremely high specification and boast large open plan offices, feature atrium and a fourth-storey director's suite with breathtaking views.
Work on the innovative building commenced on site in August, and is scheduled for completion by August 2006.
