Jackson Construction has secured a GBP3 million project from national regeneration agency, English Partnerships to build a new football stadium for Harlow Town Football Club in Essex The new Harlow Town stadium development is part of the wider GBP42 million Gateway Scheme, which will bring new homes, leisure and sporting facilities to the area

English Partnerships, together with Harlow District Council, Harlow Sports Trust and the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister form the Gateway Partnership which is delivering this key regeneration project for the town.

The Southern League Division One East side is set to move a mile-and-a-half away from its existing Sports Centre ground to a brand new 3,000-capacity stadium at Barrows Farm.

The new stadium will comprise a 352-seat covered main stand, with covered terraces to the east side of the ground and an open south terrace.

Facilities within the main stand will include a bar and dining area, changing facilities, physiotherapy and first aid room, laundry and ticket office.

Jackson Construction will also install irrigation and drainage services for the new floodlit pitch.

Car parking spaces will be created for players, staff and fans, with work on the stadium scheduled for completion in Spring 2006.

Richard Harrington, Area Director with English Partnerships said: "I'm delighted that English Partnerships has awarded the contract for Harlow Town's new football stadium.

This project signals the start of a number of new and exciting leisure and residential developments planned for Harlow.

Local people will get sports facilities to be proud of and an opportunity to get more involved in their community." Bernard Clarke, managing director of Jackson Construction, commented: "The new stadium for Harlow Town FC is part of a wider regeneration programme for the area and we are delighted to be involved in such a high profile element of the Gateway Scheme.

"With an excellent track record of delivering keynote leisure projects, such as the new North Stand at Ipswich Town FC, we are confident that the new stadium will be a facility that the entire community can be justifiably proud of.".
