Jackson Building Services has completed a £1.3 million, nine-month project to transform the old Armoury building at the Imperial War Museum Duxford.
The latest project will see Jackson Building Services reconfigure the existing layout at Greenwich and construct a new elevated access roadway to increase the operational efficiency of the recycling centre.
A new two-storey steel frame office building will be constructed to accommodate a new re-use centre for repairing and recycling furniture and electrical goods.
The contract will also include re-aligning the access roads and replacing the existing weigh bridge and offices.
The facility will remain fully operational throughout the duration of the upgrade works, with completion scheduled for the end of April 2006 Michael Manning, construction director for Jackson Building Services, commented: "A key consideration for all of our projects with Cleanaway is the implementation of robust traffic management systems to maintain continuity of operations for the client, whilst ensuring rigorous health and safety protection for everyone on site".
"Our challenge at Greenwich is to successfully deliver the project on time and within budget, whilst minimising disruption to the day to day activities at the facility and working on a tightly constrained site with a high concentration of traffic through flow.".
