Jackson Construction has secured a 2 million pound project with Morley Fund Management and The Churchmanor Estates Co plc at Chesterford Research Park, near Cambridge The project will see Jackson build a new research and development (RandD) office unit at the 250-acre low-density research park, which aims to attract a wide range of biotechnology and RandD companies into the area

The two-storey steel frame RandD office building will feature a predominantly open plan layout, with brickwork and cladding to the facade.

Jackson will install solar shading panels to the front elevation and externally, the contractor will create a new car park and carry out a range soft landscaping finishes around the building, with the project due for completion early 2007.

Chris Harrall, Director of Jackson Construction's Commercial division, commented: "We continue to secure an increasing volume of commercial office projects by working closely with our clients to provide high quality and intelligent contracting solutions".

"This latest scheme at Chesterford Research Park represents an excellent opportunity for Jackson to play an important role in the developing South Cambridge bio-technology cluster.".
