Jackson's Win Cambridge Office Build Project
Jackson Building Services, the special projects division of Jackson Construction, has been awarded a £1.8m contract to construct construct a new 24,000 sq. ft, two-storey business centre in Chatteris.
Work is now underway to construct an extension to the existing hotel to increase capacity by an additional 48 bedrooms.
The three-storey traditionally constructed extension has been designed to blend seamlessly with the original building, with ISG Jackson Special Projects carrying out remodelling works to the roof to accommodate a number of new rooms within this space.
En-suite facilities are being constructed off site within self-contained pods, which are then lifted into position and connected to essential services.
Using the pod system enables the company to reduce the number of trades-people on site and brings associated savings in time to the works programme.
ISG Jackson Special Projects will also construct a single-storey changing room facility adjacent to the existing clubhouse to provide additional capacity for the thriving golf club.
The brick and block built structure will be fitted out to a high standard with shower and welfare facilities and new lockers and storage areas.
Work on both phases of the project is scheduled for completion by May 2007.
Michael Manning, construction director for ISG Jackson Special Projects, commented: "We have a great track record in the successful delivery of key note leisure projects within the East Anglian region, and this latest contract award highlights the confidence clients place in ISG Jackson Special Projects to provide high quality contracting solutions".
"Stoke by Nayland has already established an international reputation for its sporting facilities and we are confident that its ambitious plans to take an increasing share of the leisure market will prove highly successful.".
