Jackson's Completes Duxford War Museum Project
Jackson Building Services has completed a £1.3 million, nine-month project to transform the old Armoury building at the Imperial War Museum Duxford.
The contractor has also been appointed to a four-year deal with Nottingham Community Housing Association, which sees ISG Jackson selected as a preferred regional partner to encompass new-build social housing schemes within the Midlands.
It means the main contractor could assist bpha's plans to provide almost 1,300 new homes in Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and Milton Keynes, following a record GBP41 million grant the organisation recently received from the Housing Corporation's Approved Development Programme.
Nottingham Community Housing Association operates two value bands for its framework partners, with contractors selected for projects valued up to GBP3.8 million, and those schemes valued at higher than GBP3.8 million.
ISG Jackson is one of a minority of contractors that have been selected to work across both value bands, with the first schemes under the framework expected to commence in the New Year.
Phillip Allerton, director of ISG Jackson's Living division, commented: "Increasing levels of investment in social housing developments throughout the UK have triggered a buoyant market for experienced main contractors with an excellent partnering track record".
"The framework procurement route continues to prove popular, with selected contracting partners getting involved with schemes at an early stage to add real value, under a more transparent regime, which is beneficial to all stakeholders.".
